Listener Stories and Testimonies

We have gotten some amazing emails and letters the last few weeks. We always enjoy hearing from our listeners, hearing how God is at work in their lives. We're humbled and amazed at how He continues to use us. Then it occurred to us, you might like to hear some of those stories as well. So, periodically we'll be posting stories and letters from our listeners here. If you would like to share your KTSY story with us, click here to share it.

--Hello! I just wanted to share with you and all behind the ministry of KTSY/KTFY about my experience this past weekend. It has changed my life - and I hope it will yours too. I happened to be attending the Nampa SDA Church on Saturday 4/18/09, as my daughter's school choir was singing for special music there. Prior to their singing, there was a baptism - and before the baptism a friend of hers read a letter she wished to share with the Church. In the letter she talked about how she had chosen the wrong paths in her youth - how she had been a meth addict for 12 years - how she had moved back to the Treasure Valley years later with 2 kids in tow, as a last resort, as her ex-in-laws were allowing her to move in with them as she had nowhere else to go. She shared that it was in channel-flipping through radio stations when she stumbled upon KTSY and started listening - and through listening to the ministry of KTSY decided to give God a try, so to speak. She found a Church to attend, and kept listening to KTSY. She has been doing Bible studies with the church pastor for over a year. And on that day, I was blessed beyond words to watch this stranger to me, be baptized and give her life to the Lord. I know nothing about this woman. I'd never seen her before, and may never again in this earthly world. But I sat in that pew watching with tears rolling down my cheeks amazed at what God can do in one person’s life through the ministry of music.

She is one example of someone whose life has been turned over to Jesus because of the ministry of KTSY/KTFY. I know of one - how many hundreds and thousands are like her - that we will not know about until we are in Heaven one day? She is why we are here - she is why I am committed to the ministry of KTSY/KTFY! She is why we can never ever let the ministry of KTSY/KTFY dwindle - for she is proof that KTSY/KTFY IS bringing people to Jesus! Nichole

--Hi, I will be praying for you and the KTSY team. God knows our needs, He has never let us down. I am a regular contributor to the station and enjoy listening to the wonderful music every day. The economy has affected my job also. I am now working a little over half the hours I used to work but I am glad to have a job. With Christ we can have peace that passes understanding. Praise The Lord! Love, Janey

--I am so glad you have come back to KTSY. I listen to you as I travel around the valley with my job. I am a social worker and bereavement coordinator for a hospice agency in the area, so I listen frequently and take you all over the valley with me. I want to tell you what an positive impact you and KTSY has had in my life the past year and a half. I went through a very difficult and painful divorce. My ex-husband completely walked away from everything we know to be true and right. In my darkest moments, most lonely times, I would turn on the radio, and still do, and there would be a song, or one of the DJ's saying something that would absolutely be right on the mark. I know you guys have bad days and dark times too, please remember that what you do makes a huge difference to those of us on the other end of the microphone. Jodi

--I'm listening to your radio show over the internet and funny but right now as im writing this email to you you are playing one of my fav christian songs (made to love) I just wanted to tell ya guys that your show is really great and even some dudes from Germany are listening to you well, at least one. I'm going to some really tough times right now and your show really helps me to get through it cause all the good music keeps me positive and reminds me that I'm not alone and that Jesus will bust me out sooner or later! (Just if you wonder why some young man from Germany is listening to a Boise radio show. Well I used lived there half a year back in 2003 when I was going to Cole Valley Christian High School) Greetings from Frankfurt Germany to all of ya. Boise is beautiful! God bless you. Erik

--I just wanted to say thank you. Thanks for your inspirational blogs and radio messages but mostly for just letting God use you. I have listened to your station for about 2 1/2 years or so and in that time, because you depend totally on listener support, I have donated money. At first, it wasn't really much of a problem since I was working full time and wasn't donating that much, but I felt led to do it, probably not because of my faith at the time but because of yours and the staff at the station. I learned that I didn't have to do it all, I just had to do my part. (I'm not downplaying the role of the Holy Spirit's direction to me to give.) I just was moved by the trust that the Lord would provide. It spoke volumes to me about trusting God to provide for my needs. Later, I was given an opportunity to give to raise money to buy rice for starving people in India. I don't remember how much I gave and it's not important, it was the opportunity to do something for the Kingdom that counted. And I thank you for providing that chance. This past year, I was able to give more money to the station and this time, it did kind of hurt to part with the money since I had retired from work and am now living on a pension. However, everytime I listen to the station and realize that I am part of a Kingdom work that is reaching people, I realize that it is all worth it. And again, I thank you. Keep up the good work, Greg

--My name is Donessa in Baker City Oregon. My family listens to you everyday, all day long. We get up in the morning and KTSY is turned on in the kitchen even before the coffee gets made. Hearing Gods word through music gets us ready to face our day, my two kids even sing along to their favorite songs. I count on you guys to play something up lifting when I am down and need to be encouraged. I’ve even been known to leave it playing for our dog while we are away from home.
Thank you so much from all of us! Donessa and family

--Dave, I am so glad you have come back to KTSY. I know you guys have bad days and dark times too, please remember that what you do makes a huge difference to those of us on the other end of the microphone. On a much lighter note I adore pizza more than any human being ever should, and well I just can't resist a possible offer for free pizza. Thanks Dave and KTSY for all you do. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Jodi

--I just wanted to let you all know how much I enjoy this radio station!! I love the fact that there are not commercials and that my 4 year old twins can sing along to music that I'm not ashamed of. When ever I'm in my car you are all I'm listening too..I've gotten so into the music that you play that each time I get online my first web site I connect to is yours and then listen to it at home!!! Your music is so uplifting and up beat, it will change my attitude in positive ways!! Thanks again! Rindy

--This is Prabahkar (Jerry might recognize the name), we just moved from Meridian,ID to Covington,WA. When I came here I started to look for a good radio station for Christian music. I found a few stations but nothing like KTSY. The stations here have more advertisements than songs. Even though we have moved away from the treasure valley, I still listen to KTSY online. I love the weekend of worship...no station is doing anything like that. God bless you and your team, I truly believe that KTSY is one of the best christian radio stations in the nation. My prayers are with KTSY and the KTSY family. Prabahkar & family

-- I just wanted to thank you KTSY and Heritage Auto Parts for making today such a special day for me. I've only been a single Mom of two little boys for just a short 4 months now. We went and got our Single Mom's Oil Change today and they made it special for all of us. My kids enjoyed playing and getting their balloons. Everyone was so nice and friendly, and although I was not looking forward to Mother's Day as a single Mom, today was my day and it is a special day I will never forget. Thank you again! Emily

-- WOW, I finally did it I visited your web page!! I have been a listener for about 6-7 months. I love your station but I can't say that I always have. I have lived here in Meridian and Nampa my whole life and was raised a Christian but I struggled with my music. I have always listened to other stations and not really cared for KTSY until recently! If you have a minute I hope you will read my family's story.

First off, I live in Nampa with my two wonderful children Gracey and Colton and my awesome husband Matthew. My family has had many troubles and hardships for many years but just this last year we decided that what music we listened to also affect us. I have attended church all my life, our kids attend church and love to sign hymns but once outside those church doors it was back to the world as soon as the radio came on in the truck.

My husband and I decided to try out only Christian music in our vehicle for one month. I first started out with CD that I had and then after I could no longer take the same songs over and over a turned on KTSY, at first I was skeptical but after only 2 or 3 days of listening I was learning the songs and singingalong and to my amazement so were the kids! Did they really understand the music we listened to and understand it? Well about two weeks later that was answered for me. YES they do!!! They were asking to listen to the music, wanted me to turn it up and were singing right along, this was amazing to us.

We finally made the change to KTSY permanent and what a difference it has made in our walk with the Lord, our attitudes, and our family life. Instead of songs that discourage us, we are now being uplifted and remembering to turn to God in all our situation good or bad. I want to say thank you for what you have done for my family and for what you are doing for those around you. God Will Bless You!!! Holly

-- I just wanted to drop a line to tell you how BLESSED I am listening to your station. I listen online over here in Niles, Michigan. The music and talk is just so encouraging. Your message is so important in these times. We all need so much more of JESUS. Doreen

-- Justin and I would like to thank the KTSY family. We both love Newsboys. But due to financial issues, we would not be able to attend the concert. The other day we won tickets on the "Free to Dance" song (which is my favorite Newsboys song). It is also Justin's 13th birthday next weekend. So we are celebrating with the concert. We just want you to know that we are ever so grateful for your willingness to do for the radio community as you do. Through the efforts of KTSY we are privileged to fill our home with Godly, clean music and Praise the Name of the Lord in our cars. Thank you and God's blessing on you, the staff of KTSY. Elisa
