Are You New to the KTSY Family?

If you're new to the KTSY Family, you may have some questions about Friendraiser. Here's the answers to some of the most often asked questions.

- Who We Are
Simply put, we believe God has called us to help others. KTSY is a Christ-centered, non-profit, listener-supported radio station. And we wouldn't have it any other way. To read more about who we are, click the heading above.

- Why do you ask for money?

Again, simply put, we believe God is the source of all good things in our lives, including the money we need to operate the station. And that blessing always comes to us through our listeners. We like it that way, because it keeps us accountable to the very people the station was designed to serve. To read more about our financial policies, click the heading above.

- How is the money used?

Every penny of the money contributed to KTSY for operations remains in the Treasure Valley, deposited into accounts owned by KTSY and disbursed by management to pay the expenses of our local ministry. Occasionally, we will raise funds for other organizations, both local and international such as Compassion International, Boise Rescue Mission, Genesis World Mission and others. In those instances, we always indicate what the money will be used for and the organization that will benefit from our activities.

- Is the ministry serving its purpose?

We try keep a pretty low profile when it comes to blowing our own horn about awards and accomplishments. Mainly because we believe it's not about us. It's about God and it's about you. We only long to hear "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Throughout our nearly 20 year history, KTSY has been honored as a Marconi and Crystal Award finalist by the National Association of Broadcasters, received the Governor's Brightest Star award for community service in 2008 and have been honored by the Gospel Music Association three times as Station of the Year.

We prefer to focus on the hundreds of kids sponsored by the KTSY Family around the world through Compassion International and Mission of Mercy; hundreds of thousands of people fed by the Family right here at home and around the world; hundreds of families who've received a helping hand through the Christmas Wish programs. And we love to read through the letters we receive, talking about the impact of the music and programming we play. You can read some of those letters for yourself by clicking here.

- How can I get involved?

First and foremost, please pray for KTSY. Not just during Friendraiser, but every day. The battle is constant for us, as the Enemy is always throwing things in our way as we try to God and His Kingdom through the radio station.

You can also volunteer during Friendraiser. We always need help to answer phones, stuff envelopes, do data entry and most importantly, bring the staff and other volunteers treats of all sorts. If you'd like to volunteer, click here.

And finally during Friendraiser, we of course need you to be involved financially. Generally less than five percent of our audience will join the giving family for KTSY, though our national listening survey company Arbitron tells us almost sixty percent of our audience considers us their favorite radio station. Please prayerfully consider how you can be involved and click to the heading above to make an online pledge or call the station at 208-459-5879.

Hopefully, that covers some of the important questions for you. If you need to know anything else about the station, please feel free to call us at 208-459-5879. Or you can email us by clicking here.

Thanks again for being part of the KTSY Family. We hope you are blessed by your association with us and pray you will support the station with your prayers and your financial support.
